Inexpensive Solar Panels – Things You Can Do to Save Money
Inexpensive Solar Power For the Future. That’s what I hear on the radio now. And that is what I’m going to tell you today. First, let me tell you why cheap solar power is so important and then I’ll show you how to get it.
“We think we can only make a difference by saving the world. We’ve been ruining the trees for probably many years for our sake, purify the air with chlorofluorocarbons and heal us with radiation. It’s time to stop throwing money away into this process of destruction and to start putting some of it back into the sun, back into the ground, back into the sky.”
How does he do this? By building his own solar panels. By creating his own solar cells, batteries, and inverter to send the power he generates to batteries and into the grid where it is used to powerhouses, offices, and other places. This is done by understanding the electrical generation capabilities of the photovoltaic cells that surround them.
This man is learning. He has a website with a lot of information. He is also talking often at the local workshops on the subject.
Now let me ask you, what is so important about knowing about electricity and energy sources like the sun? Why do we need inexpensive solar power? Why don’t we go with the wind and water instead? After all, we are told that these sources are safer and more efficient, and we have the knowledge and technology to convert these to usable energy.
Let’s face facts. We currently waste about 18% of our energy consumption through electricity created from fossil fuels. Some of that is done purposely by our utility companies. But most of it is inadvertent. We just turn off lights when we leave the room or turn down appliances that are not in use.
The time is running out. The planet cannot produce the energy it needs to support human life and sustain the levels of commerce that we have enjoyed for too long. In California especially, the drought has driven up the cost of utilities tremendously. And we still haven’t recovered from the housing bubble and all the new construction.
Solar energy is the answer. It is clean and abundant. It does not cause any pollution. It can be used anywhere. It is reliable. All these reasons have convinced millions of us that this is something that we should become very interested in.
There is no need to have expensive professional installers building these panels for us. With the proper instructions, anyone can build their own inexpensive solar panels. The main components are the solar cells and the solar panels.
The solar cells are what actually turn the energy contained in the solar cells into usable energy. These cells are also known as photovoltaic cells. They are made of a material known as silicon, which absorbs the sun’s light and then changes it into electricity.
Solar cells come in various different shapes and sizes. The thickness and size will depend upon the amount of energy the cell will produce. When they are used in conjunction with a battery, these cells create an electrical current that can then be used in appliances and home electronics. You will find these types of power systems used in RV’s, cars, boats, and even some small home systems. This type of energy is clean and renewable.
Another way to use solar power is by use of a homemade solar water heater. These units heat water indoors using the heat from the sun. There is no need to use an expensive electrical heating unit because the sun’s energy is converted into heat which can be used in these units to warm up water without any additional cost.
Solar power is a great way to save on energy costs. We are not able to rely on utility companies anymore. Inexpensive ways to use renewable energy is becoming more popular by the day. We need to take advantage of all of the things we can do on our own to save on energy costs.
