As mentioned above, brightness in projectors is measured in lumens. But if you buy a projector that is too bright, it can cause eye strain and an insanely bright screen with no details. In daylight, a higher luminous flux is automatically indicated. But if you are serving a small group of people, say less than 100, the maximum required luminous flux is 3000. If you have moderate lighting, choose a value of 4500 or higher. And if there is bright light around and almost no shadows, select 6000 lumens for perfect, clutter-free projection.

Contrast ratio

In second place after brightness is contrast. Contrast ratio is literally the difference between the darkest and the brightest parts on the screen. The higher it is, the brighter will be bright parts and the darker will be the dark parts. And this will give the projection more image depth. Thus, to create the best daylight projection, you will need a high contrast device for light and dark to be seen in the best possible way. Otherwise, you are left with an overly bright screen that lacks depth.

Size of the projection and throw distance

One of the main things you should think about when choosing where you will place your projector. Screen sizes from 1.5 to 3 meters and more. There are also 3 projection distances that measure the distance to the screen - long, short and ultra-short, from less than 1.5 meters to 3 meters and over 3 meters respectively.


Higher image resolutions give more detail, clarity and complexity to the projected image. For active and dynamic projections, be it for study, work or home entertainment, a minimum Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 is also required.
